Fast Mistakes

I made a slightly big purchase today. I had planned exactly what I wanted to buy, but when I arrived, it wasn’t available. My choices were to pick a different model or wait for the one I had in mind — with no guarantee of when it would come back in stock.

I found myself stuck in a loop, overthinking the decision. Minutes passed, and I just couldn’t commit. Eventually, I realized what was holding me back. It was the fear of making a mistake.

The truth is, trying too hard to avoid mistakes cripples decision-making and stops growth in its tracks. Mistakes might hurt, but they’re also powerful teachers. They help us learn, adapt, and become stronger.

No matter how much we try to avoid them, mistakes are inevitable. The best approach is to embrace this fact, make those mistakes fast, and learn from them even faster.
